The Suzaku-mon Hiroba Square in front of the Suzaku-mon Gate (South Central Gate) of the Heijokyu-seki Rekishi Koen (Nara Palace Site Historical Park) is the main entrance to the Nara Palace Site. The square contains a museum where visitors can learn about the Nara Palace, as well as facilities to make visits more pleasant and convenient. When standing in the square, visitors will feel the vastness of the ancient palace. The square is divided into the west and east areas by the Suzaku-oji Avenue. The west area is managed by Nara Prefecture and contains a restaurant, a café, shops and a transport terminal. The eastern area is managed by the Japanese government and has the Heijokyu Izanai-kan (Guidance Center) in it.

In this area, there are many buildings including Tempyo Miharashi-kan which boasts an observation deck, a VR theater, a bicycle rental, etc.; Tempyo Umashi-kan which contains a restaurant and a café; Tempyo Mitsuki-kan with its information center and shops; Tempyo Tsudoi-kan which has ample room where group tour members can gather; and a transport terminal including a toll parking lot and a drop off/pick up area for buses and taxis.
Visitors may enter the reconstructed Japanese envoy ship to Tang, China, free of charge.

Tempyo Umashi-kan: 9:30 to 18:00
・Restaurant: 11:00 to 14:00
*Reservation for the entire restaurant is available after 17:00 (for course menu only).
・Café: 9:30 to 22:00
Tempyo Mitsuki-kan: 9:30 to 18:00 (The shops are open until 21:00.)
Tempyo Tsudoi-kan (Information): 9:30 to 18:00
